BOSMC doctors play an extensive and wide ranging role in education of the medical profession.
Medical Student Education
Many of our doctors lecture to Medical students at Universities.
Several of our surgeons perform duties at Public Hospitals where they supervise and teach medical students in the clinical setting.
Doctors in training
Our doctors supervise junior doctors at several public hospitals and fill mentoring roles with those doctors who are interested in future Orthopaedic Training.
Our surgeons are actively involved in the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Program performing vital teaching duties in addition to administrative roles within many committees.
Our clinic has operated an approved fellowship program for the further training of Surgeons at the end of their formal Orthopaedic Training.
General practice
We are active in GP education. Activities range from BOSMC education days where we provide informative lectures and small group demonstrations and Hospital Based Conferences. Interested Clinicians are welcome to attend surgery sessions when their patients are involved.
Orthopaedic Surgeons
Many surgeons from Australia and abroad have visited BOSMC to discuss and observe current techniques with our doctors.
We have hosted the prestigious AOSSM, ESSKA and APKASS Travelling Fellows.
Our surgeons have spoken as Instructional Course Lecturers at National Level Orthopaedic Meetings.
